The marathon round celebrated the club’s 100th anniversary this year.

Nine teams of two players each put together pledges to raise $ 50,000 in one day on the links.

Money raised on Monday will go towards a fundraising goal of $ 100,000 in 2021, with proceeds to be distributed in support of the Four Pillars of Beach Grove’s Centennial Charity Initiative “Building a Legacy Campaign” . The pillars include the areas of children, mental health, hospitals and community.

Selected charities include the Windsor Cancer Center, WE Care for Kids, UHC – Hub of Opportunity (formerly known as Unemployed Help Center) and the Canadian Mental Health Association.

“The 100 Hole Golf Fundraising Event is one way the club has chosen to give back to our selected charities in celebration of our centennial,” said club president Frank Dayus Jr.

“The Beach Grove community and members have been tremendously supportive of this event, and we are truly grateful. Together, we exceeded our fundraising expectations for this event.

The final tally for Monday’s event was not available until the press deadline.
