The World’s Best Employers Have Been Revealed and These Canadian Companies Have Been Shortlisted

If you’ve always wanted to work for one of the best companies in the world, this is your chance.

On October 11, Forbes released its annual list of the World’s Best Employers and several Canadian companies actually made the cut.

To compile this information, Forbes used market research firm Statista, which surveyed 150,000 workers from 57 countries working in multinational companies.

Some of the metrics used to judge organizations were impact and corporate image, talent development, gender equality and social responsibility.

Participants were also asked to rate whether they were willing to recommend their employer to friends and family, and to rate other companies in the industry that stood out (positively or negatively).

Using these factors, Forbes has compiled a list of the top 800 employers in the world.

What are the best Canadian companies to work for?

Among the top 100 companies on the list, two Canadian organizations made the cut.

Shopify was the highest ranked Canadian company on the list, occupying the 56th position. The Ottawa-headquartered company has approximately 10,000 employees and is clearly doing something right.

The next Canadian company to make the list was TD Bank, in 65th place.

Beyond that, several other Canadian companies were among the top 800.
